Q. There’s a guy who likes me in school, but I don’t like him all that much. He keeps asking me out but I haven’t said yes, but I’m thinking of going out with him this weekend. My friends think I’m crazy to say no to him because he’s like really cool and they think he’s cute so I think I’ll just do it anyway. What do you think?
A. Here’s what I think:
• Doing anything just because you’re pressured to by your friends, is wrong.
• Going out with someone just because they’re considered “cool” and “cute” is nonsense.
• Having such low self-esteem that you would consider letting a guy you don’t even like get romantically close to you, is sadder than you know.
Wake up! Stop living for your friends and start to care about who you are as a young woman with a wonderful future that God has for you.
Believe in the best and don’t settle for junk. And you can quote me on that.
